About Us

Certain Dark Things create visceral, playful and macabre performances using puppetry and physical theatre. We explore the human condition, delving into the joy and sadness of being alive and dead.

Our deepest darkest desire is to ensnare adult audiences with our puppetry! We are a playful bunch and love to experiment with different performance techniques, adding in animation, live music, masks and all sorts of spooky stuff.

After winning the “Best of the Fest” Award at Brighton Fringe in 2015 for our first show “The Girl Who Cannot Die”, Certain Dark Things went on to create “Melancholy” which toured the UK, Ireland and Europe for 2 years. “The Story of William, Who Died” followed, touring around Ireland before a stint in London.

Our 4th production, Savage Heart, will be embarking on a small UK tour in Spring 2023 supported by Arts Council England.
