Workshops

Certain Dark Things offer a range of workshops suitable for students interested in theatre and performance.

We have experience delivering workshops to ages 8+, and can tailor any of our workshops to suit different ages and abilities.

Certain Dark Things have previously delivered workshops at Drama Centre London, Liverpool John Moore’s University, Newbury Youth Theatre, Derby Theatre and Youth Theatre Groups across Ireland.

  • Connecting to the Body: Physical Theatre Workshop

It all begins in the body! Our physical theatre workshop gives students a chance to focus on ways to use their bodies in performance. This is a playful workshop that looks at clown, contact improvisation and ensemble movement work.

  • Bring Me to Life: Puppetry Workshop

We offer puppetry workshops for different levels, from complete beginners to more advanced studies.

Beginners workshops will cover all the basics and get students focused on working as an ensemble before giving them the chance to play with table top puppets.

Workshops for more experienced students will include looking at the relationships between puppets and actors, improvisation with puppets, and creating a world for your puppet.

  • Creating Something From Nothing: Devising Workshop

Starting is the hardest part. This devising workshop will give students the tools they need to start creating their own visual theatre pieces. With a focus on ensemble, this workshop gives groups a chance to explore different ways to put thought into action when creating work.
